Bumpus Harley-Davidson in Jackson, Tennessee will be the site of Darryl’s third songwriter event this year to benefit his Darryl Worley Foundation. Joining Darryl at the “Hitmakers & Harleys” event on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 will be hit songwriters Walt Aldridge, Jim “Moose” Brown and Wynn Varble.

“We actually started this songwriter series at the Bumpus dealership in Jackson last year,” said Darryl. “Scott and Angie (Bumpus) just kind of cleared out their showroom, brought in tables and put up a stage, and we had a blast. We were thrilled with the turnout and the way folks opened their hearts up to this cause.”

A partial list of Top 10 hits written or co-written by Walt Aldridge includes Heartland’s “I Loved Her First,” Ronnie Milsap’s “No Gettin’ Over Me” and Ricky Van Shelton’s smash “Crime of Passion.” He has produced, engineered or been a musician for everyone from Peter Cetera and Dobie Gray to Martina McBride and Jo Dee Messina.

Jim “Moose” Brown is best known for his Grammy Award-winning song “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere,” which was recorded by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. He also co-produced Darryl’s new album Sounds Like Life, and Jamey Johnson’s Grammy-nominated That Lonesome Song album.

Wynn Varble is no stranger to Darryl Worley fans. His co-writing partnership with Darryl has yielded such hits as “I Just Came Back From A War,” “Slow Dancin’ With A Memory,” and the #1 smash “Have You Forgotten.” He co-wrote three songs on Darryl’s newest album, including the title track hit “Sounds Like Life To Me.” Wynn’s songs have also been recorded by Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack.

Tickets are very limited. Tables in the Golden Circle Seating area are $1200 and include dinner, drinks and a meet and greet with the songwriters. Corporate Tables include dinner and drinks are $700, and individual seating for dinner only is $75 per person. Reservations must be made by calling 713-422-5508.
